Interview with Author Cassie Parks

Today I interviewed Author Cassie Parks

I had a great interview with Cassie today about her books and her writing process. I really enjoyed getting to know her as well as her positive outlook and, “go get em” attitude. I feel like we can all learn a lot from Cassie.

Please read along of my interview with this best-selling author to learn all the amazing things that I did.

Cassie Talking

Thank you so much for agreeing to do this interview with me I greatly appreciate it. The purpose of this interview is to pick your brain on your writing process and hopefully help and inspire other authors.

Let’s get started…

First tell me a little bit about yourself.

I am an author and a money mindset coach. I “retired” from my corporate job at 32 to pursue my passion of coaching people. I had created enough passive income with my real estate investments to pay my bills. I have written 6 best-sellers in the areas of money, business and lifestyle design. Then I heard the whisper to write a fiction book while in Tuscany a year and a half ago. It’s also an Amazon best-seller. I’m getting ready to release my next novella and have another started that will be released in May.

Anything else I can tell you about me?

That is awesome

How many books have you published so far?

So far, I’ve published 7

Are they both in print and digital?

6 are currently available in print, 2 in books stores. And we’re getting the novella up in print on Amazon as we speak.

Great glad to hear that

Are you self-published?

All ways. I have two currently with a traditional publisher that are available in bookstores. My others are with a different publisher and the next ones will all be self-published.

Why did you decide to go the self-publishing route?

Speed and ease mostly. I’d rather write my next book and get it out there than wait and pitch. I have a big fan base and a podcast, so I have places to share what I’m doing.

That is really great, and I don’t blame you there

Now is Cassie Parks your real name or a pen?

How do you promote and market your books?

I do some paid marketing in the beginning. I have a tribe for my coaching work that I share with. I have two podcasts that I share about my life and journey on and writing is a part of that, so I share there. And this time, I am going to do some email trades with friends to engage with their audiences as well.

Good idea and Awesome

What would you say has been your biggest mistake in writing?

Looking at things as mistakes isn’t something I really do. But the biggest thing I was doing wrong before I started working with a book coach was not writing to an ideal reader. Since working with her I’ve also realized I needed to go deeper into that for my non-fiction books and right to my paying client. When you write to one person everyone can hear you. If you write to everyone, no one hears you.

That makes a lot of sense and I think it’s very positive that you don’t look at things as mistakes but as a learning curve that is amazing.

It’s funny I always hesitate when using words like mistake, but I know for authors who are struggling it’s nice to know what not to do because sometimes we all need a little help lol

Yeah, I feel like we learn when we do. Thinking about mistakes often keeps people from getting started. If I hadn’t written the first book that didn’t get the results I wanted I wouldn’t have been open to seeing a better way.

That is a great way of looking at it

I totally get that. I’m one of the few people who doesn’t focus on that. And that has helped me write many of my books in 3 days.

Wow that’s a record

What would you say your biggest success is?

so far of course lol

Creating the life, I have where I have the freedom to do what I want and what I love most.

Great answer

What inspires your writing?

Specific to book writing-writing my first novella.

Short answer-life.

Longer answer-my non-fiction writing is designed to attract clients. And fiction is both totally out of the blue inspired (my upcoming book The Plan) and also by lessons I want to show in story.

What is something you want your readers to know about?

That they can create a life that makes them happy.

I love that

I agree with you 100%

What advice do you have for other authors?

Write! Make a plan, stick to it and write whatever it is. Then hire an editor to make sure it all came out of your head the way you intended. Writing makes you a writing. You don’t have to write perfect. Just write. And finish it. You don’t’ have to do anything with it if you decide not to. But writing it will change you.

Awesome. Thank you so much for meeting with me today I have one more question for you

What is the best way for readers to find you?

Thank you for interviewing me. This was fun.

Best way if you’re interested in books is just search Cassie Parks on Amazon or they can go to
